Four years ago today, I photographed the 12th Annual All Oakland Youth Talent Showcase on Saturday May 19, 2012
The event's theme was “Taking Back Oakland: The Heart of Resistance.” The young people chose the theme as a way to create their own future. Four years later, it is still a relevant vision. Oakland Leaf sponsored the event that was held at Laney College on Malcolm X's birthday.
