My Bachelors Degree is in Women's Studies. (Some people ask, "Really?" Yes. really. ) I also have a six year old daughter. My daughter loves Taylor Swift. And for now, that is O.K. I even like Taylor Swift. She writes her own music. Taylor respects her fans. She is sweet and polite. She also reminds me of high school angst and heart ache and I like those memories now. On the other hand, Taylor seems to encourage young girls to follow their inner princess. This includes waiting for a man who is already in a relationship with another woman. Then, she writes a song about him... or, she writes a song about someone she was afraid to approach in the first place. Even Taylor seems so passive.
I would rather Miranda Lambert speak for my daughter... once my daughter is a little older. (or a lot older.) I know my daugther is supposed to be made of sugar and spice and everything nice, but what is wrong with a little gunpowder and lead?

Don't we want our little girls to know how to take care of themselves? I do!
