Below is the twenty-first in my 31 day writers series project; each day I feature a different person and ask three similar questions about a person's writing process. This week, I introduce two people I met my first year in college. Today, I am introducing someone who is preparing for his first year in college.
Last Summer, I taught a multi-media course and a computer applications seminar. Lambert was one of my students. A core group of students would arrive early and stay late often working through break. Some students would have worked through lunch, but I tried to teach moderation also even enforcing mandatory breaks towards the end of the course.
I would much rather work with motivated students than those who are not.
Lambert worked hard. He listened. When I suggested that students learn about blogging, he quietly started a blog. He continued writing it after the summer. He changed the format, added music and contacted a photographer for rights to add a banner image.
Lambert wrote several interesting posts recently. I enjoyed reading about Chinese New Year and how his family gives him advice. I read the New Year's post after reading his post about turning 18. Like all children, Lambert is from a different era than his elders. While they are giving him advice about how to make it in a the world as the elders imagine it, Lambert is imagining an entire new future with Google AdSense.
Below is a photo of our classroom followed by Lambert's three writing answers. Coincidentally, One of Lambert's answers includes a journalism reference even though he is not one of the students I know through journalism education. Lambert is a critical consumer of news. He looks for honesty... even teenagers look for journalistic integrity, and some teenagers seem to have higher standards.
Hey Mr. Farley,
Sure, that's cool.
1. Why do you write? One of my original motives to write was to improve my rhetorical and grammatical skills. It was mainly in preparation for the SAT, and in turn, writing better essays for school. My desire to improve is still one of the biggest reason that I continue writing, but now it's more of a hobby where I just jot down interesting events and thoughts. 2. What motivates or inspires you?
Often times, my motivation comes from the feeling that I get after reading articles about devastating historical events. It's a kind of feeling that inspires me to take advantage of my opportunities, not having to face the obstacles or brutalities that the people of the article had to face. Other times, I might watch a bit of the ... news programs getting caught in their own traps/lies. It's always funny to me how they'll never admit it. When I'm writing on my blog, I don't face writer's block. I write when I want to, and if I have something on my mind that I really want to say. It's not something that I force myself to do, but sometimes I get ideas during the day that might push me to write. However, when I get writer's block for school writing assignments, I put on some music and just get away from the thing. Then I come back to it maybe 10-15 mins later, and I usually have something to put down.
3. How do you overcome writer's block?
If you may need $500 or $1,000, that is a good alternative which you will want to keep at heart when you browse around for the very best deals my website " detective inspector ian butler from hertfordshire constabulary's economic crime unit said: this is an excellent piece of partnership fitting in with target this sort of crime.

Step 4: Clean your painting materials while waiting for the fence to dry. Extra colors make your project more expensive (but I like color and wanted to experiment:), however,. Companies can ship the equipment directly to your home so you can begin using it immediately to complete your home improvement project.
