My kids will probably remember that they enjoyed their first high school basketball game. They will remember that they played at a park, and that the kids were so big. My children will forget that they arrived late and left early.
Parents often discuss exposing their children to different activities. On the first day back to school after the three day weekend, my son wore my San Marin High shirt to school. (I probably should have photographed him wearing it; the shirt hung down to his knees.)
Even if my children seemed a little bored by the game, they saw me photograph the team. My kids also know more about what I do, although kids already understand the concept of a teacher. My kids do not really understand my wife's job. She is a litigator. Civil defense. Attorney. I barely understand what my wife does.
