Last year my daughter turned five. We surprised her and my son by going to Disneyland. We drove from Oakland to the Anaheim Hilton, and when we arrived at the hotel she said, "I knew it. I knew you were taking me to a hoTEL for my birthday." She loves hotels... really loves them, and would have been happy if we had driven six hours to stay in a nice hotel. NOTE: she says the word as if she grew up in the South, and I don't discourage her, so now we all say, "hoTEL."
On her birthday, it rained. Sometimes, it poured. At first, we were disappointed until we realized that most people do not go to Disneyland the first weekend of February when it pours. I don't think I will ever go to Disneyland in the summer again.
Her birthday is this Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday. She has asked to go to...
a hoTEL.
